Once again, probiotic-rich fermented Giardiniera (Italian Pickled Vegetables) continues to hold the all-time (7 years) number one spot. Note: I’ve updated my fermentation technique (as you can see in the picture) to include an easy-to-use Pickle Pipe airlock and glass weights to keep the vegetables submerged in the brine.

  6. Toasted Quinoa – The Lightest, Fluffiest, Most Flavorful Quinoa
2018’s Favorite New Recipes on Everyday Healthy! EverydayDelicious! The idea came to me a couple of weeks ago while enjoying a bowl of Caramelized Onion Fennel and Mushroom Soup. Hmm, I thought, this soup would be perfect over a scoop of quinoa. Maybe even toasted quinoa. Interesting thought considering that I’d never before made or tasted toasted quinoa. I made a small batch, toasting the quinoa in the same pan I would cook it in. The smell incredible, the color change promising, and adding the boiling water exciting. The depth of flavor rich, earthy, nutty, fabulous. The texture amazingly light and fluffy.  Printer-Friendly Recipe

  7. Honey Roasted Apples with Honey Butter Caramel Sauce Studded with Toasted Sesame Seeds, Flavored with Rose Water and Vanilla
2018's Favorite New Recipes on Everyday Healthy! Everyday DeliciousHoney Roasted Apples were my dinner tonight. In my defense, even after two weeks of testing and tasting, photos were needed for the blog and the caramel sauce needed another refinement. So, I roasted a batch of apples. Once a serving was plated and photographed, I taste tested. Hmm, another bite was required to be sure. Then another bite led to an additional half serving, quickly followed by the other half. So fragrant, so flavorful, so tender, so juicy, so delicious that I finished the remainder of the apples. And that was my dinner.  Printer-Friendly Recipes

  8. Rosy Peach Raspberry Chia Pudding – Rich Flavor & Luscious Texture– Blending Makes it Smooth and Creamy
2018's Favorite New Recipes on Everyday Healthy! Everyday DeliciousAugust brings big, juicy, sweet bend-over peaches. You know, when peaches are so juicy that you naturally “bend over” when eating them to prevent the juice from running down your chin. Excited to have a flat of ripe bend-over peaches, Paul suggested we make them into a chia pudding. Which I did. Then, returning home from the Saturday market with a pint of ripe raspberries gave me another idea. Within the hour a richly flavored, lusciously textured Rosy Peach Raspberry Chia Pudding came into being.  Printer-Friendly Recipe
