Healthy Cooking Classes—Eat Better in 2014Most Popular New Year’s Resolutions? Eat Healthier & Lose Weight

One of my resolutions for 2014 is to help you keep your resolutions. I encourage you to prepare meals at home. Through both the recipes and articles on my blog and the healthy cooking classes I so love to teach. In January and February, I’m offering two different classes (one each month) to give you the tools to maintain your New Year’s resolutions throughout the year. I look forward to working with you, answering your questions and reading your comments.

Healthy Cooking Classes—Eat Better in 2014January’s cooking class – The Art of Fermentation
Natural fermentation is a sustainable, low-tech method of preserving food that offers incredible health benefits. Fermented foods are nutrient-rich and naturally high in probiotics. These are the good bacteria that lead to healthier guts and improved digestion. And that’s in addition to boosting our immune system. Recently Dr. Oz labeled probiotics as “the best weight loss trend of 2013.”

I’m confident that once you taste these healthy and mouthwatering foods, you’ll want to enjoy them on a regular basis. Depending upon your current diet, there may be a period of fine-tuning as your body and palette adjust to the flavors and increased activity in your gut.

Fermentation January
Last January’s blog posts featured fermentation how-to’s, guidelines and links along with my favorite recipes. As more and more people discover the benefits of fermentation, these have become some of the most popular posts on my site. You can access both the recipes and posts by clicking the word “fermentation” in the tag cloud in the right-hand column of each page.

I do hope you’ll join me in the January 25th Fermentation Workshop. A great opportunity to discover the art of fermentation for yourself.

I want to offer my thanks to you for such a wonderful workshop…I learned about something completely outside of my culinary repertoire, and to be honest, I can’t wait to make a few new things this coming week.  You were so organized, and covered so much more territory than I ever anticipated…many thanks for your generosity …. LR, Bozeman

Bozeman is too far for me to attend a class but I’ll be there in spirit.

So – what is the teasing tidbit at the bottom of your post? Jam? Love the plate as well.
